Yes, we offer Business and Commercial services, despite our name around half of our installations are commercial.
What is a Home Network?
Yes, we offer both business and domestic services. In fact, despite our name, around half of our installations are for commercial clients.
I already have a home network. How can you help?
There are several ways we can assist in improving your existing network. Many networks are fairly basic, with weak signal areas and limited speeds. We can offer solutions to ensure consistent connectivity throughout your home or business, significantly improve speeds, and enhance security.
Additionally, we can help you make the most of your home network by integrating various technologies, including CCTV, door entry systems, smart home devices, network storage, printers, music and media solutions, and much more.

Can you improve my Wi-fi?
Absolutely! We can definitely make a noticeable improvement to your WiFi. We'll enhance coverage, boost connectivity speeds, and ensure your WiFi network performs at its best.
Do you install Mesh WiFi?
It's important to clarify that we do not use Mesh WiFi at all. Mesh WiFi refers to a system that uses multiple wireless nodes to communicate, but due to the solid construction of many homes in the UK, this technology is often unreliable. Instead, we install Wireless Access Points (WAPs), which are hardwired and centrally managed, much like those used in commercial environments. These provide a single, reliable WiFi network across an area, allowing you to move seamlessly from one location to another without losing connectivity.
Why do I need Ethernet?
Ethernet cabling is an excellent choice for building a reliable and high-speed network in your home or business. It's fast, dependable, and likely to remain a key technology for years to come. The best networks combine both WiFi and Ethernet, with high-bandwidth devices connected via Ethernet to ease the load on the WiFi network.
Ethernet also offers a variety of other applications, such as distributing audio and video, connecting CCTV systems, and integrating smart home devices.
For more information on Ethernet, check out our blogs: "Is there still a place for Ethernet?" and "Ethernet cables explained".

Which brands do you work with?
Home Network Solutions works with a variety of trusted brands. We specialize in Ubiquiti Unifi for networking, door entry, CCTV, and VoIP. We also work with TP-Link Omada and Hewlett Packard Networks Instant On (formerly Aruba Instant On) for networking solutions. For CCTV, we are Hikvision partners, though we generally recommend Ubiquiti for CCTV setups. For intruder alarms, we exclusively use Ajax. In the smart home sector, we are Control4 dealers and also work with Rako. When it comes to audio and home cinema, we collaborate with a range of leading brands.
Can you provide references?
Home Network Solutions is a Google 5-star rated company, and we have many customer testimonials showcasing how happy our clients are with our work. We are also active on social media, where you can find plenty of photos and videos of our installations. Still unsure? If needed, we can reach out to some of our previous customers and ask them to provide a reference. While we are happy to do this, we prefer to reserve it for larger installations and do not make it a regular practice.
I struggle with technology; can you offer a simple solution which will suit me?
We understand that technology can be overwhelming, especially with how quickly things change. To make things easier, we offer tailored solutions designed to meet your needs. After your installation, you’ll receive 30 days of free remote support. If you'd like to continue the service beyond that, we offer a variety of network and CCTV support packages to keep you covered.

I have a tight budget. Can you still help?
We are professional installers who use high-quality commercial networking equipment and ensure every installation is completed to the highest standards (see examples on our Instagram Account). While we focus on delivering exceptional quality, it's important to note that this level of service comes with a cost. We aim to provide excellent value for the quality we offer, but our solutions may not be the most suitable for those on a tight budget.
How long will installations take?
The duration of an installation depends on the specific requirements and the setup of your home or business. While some jobs can be completed in just a few hours, more complex installations may take longer. We’ll discuss the timeline in detail during the quotation process, but most of our installations are typically completed within a day.
Can you provide technical support after installation?
We will provide free technical support and assistance for 30 days after we have completed an installation. After this time you have the option to continue that support by purchasing subscribing to one of our support packages.
Alternatively if you feel this option would not be right for you, we provide a call out service charged at a flat fee.

Will you need to install cables?
Yes, we will need to install cables, but we understand that you don't want them to be visible. We take great care to keep cables hidden or as discreet as possible, using every method available to minimize their appearance. In fact, most of our clients are often surprised by how well we've hidden the cables by the end of the installation.
I want a wired network but I don’t want messy cables on show.
We offer several ways to hide cables and keep them out of sight. Since network cables carry very little charge, there is much more flexibility compared to power cables. We'll carefully plan the installation to minimize disruption and ensure the most visually appealing result, so you can enjoy a clean, tidy setup without compromising on performance.
Technology changes all the time, how do you future proof?
We constantly review the products we use to ensure we're installing the latest technology. While keeping up with advancements can be costly, we’ll always offer you the option to install the most up-to-date equipment, as long as your budget allows. For our installations, we use Cat6 cables or higher, which support speeds of up to 10Gbps (for distances of 30 meters or less), providing plenty of capacity for future upgrades to your infrastructure.
I don’t want anything new installed I just need some help with my current setup. Can you help?
Yes, we can help! However, we only offer troubleshooting and configuration services for Ubiquiti Unifi products. If you already have a Unifi system in place, we can definitely assist. Please note, we do not provide troubleshooting for other brands. If you're experiencing reliability issues with your home network, your first point of contact should be your internet service provider.
If your issue is related to WiFi coverage, we can certainly improve this, but it would be as part of a full installation.
