WiFi and internet Troubleshooting
The vast majority of the time, issues with WiFi are simple fixes, using our tips below you may find you can quickly resolve an problem yourself.
Issue: My WiFi does not seem to work?
First steps
If you find you cannot connect to the WiFi we first suggest you try the three steps below.
- Reset your device
- Forget the network and try reconnecting
- Ensure device is not in airplane mode
- Check if other devices are having the same issue (could the issue be with one device?)
The WiFi still does not seem to work.
- Has there recently been a loss of power? Has anything been unplugged from the power? Has there been any liquids spilt on any of the equipment?
- Have any of the Ethernet cables been unplugged, knocked or worked loose?
- Have any of the Ethernet cables been damaged?
Issue: WiFi is connected but there's no internet
The WiFi is how your device connects to your router, the router is how your device connects to the internet. If you have WiFi but no internet the issue is almost certainly with the router.
Not sure what your router is? The router is the box provided by your internet provider (or us) which plugs into your telephone line (or Fibre modem).

Router Checks
- Does your router (box provided by your internet provider) have any red or orange lights on it? Is the internet light off? The exact lights will depend on your router but it should be fairly obvious if there is an issue. If so reset the router (power down for 5 seconds then repower). If the problem persists call your internet provider, there may be a fault with the internet.
- Have any cables been unplugged or become loose?
- Has the power to the router been turned off?
- Are you able to connect to the internet using an Ethernet cable straight into the back of the router?
Issue: I'm next to a WiFi point but the signal is weak
Sometimes devices will take a while to switch to the closest WiFi source, if the problems persists you can normally switch the device's WiFi off and on to prompt it to connect to the closest source. This isa device specific issue and normally older devices will be slightly slower at switching.
