Key Features:

  • Bright LED light for clear night-time viewing
  • Create guest access within specific dates and times using QR codes or PINs
  • Flexible configuration for calling a single property or multiple locations
  • Large, customisable LCD screen
  • Facial recognition access
  • Number plate recognition (when paired with a UniFi AI camera)
  • Flush-mounted options for a sleek, clean look
  • Gate opening via NFC cards, key fobs, or Apple Wallet

The Ubiquiti UniFi Access app is one of the most user-friendly systems available. It allows you to easily manage guest access, update PINs, assign QR codes, or register number plates for automatic gate entry.
Every call is recorded, and the intercom’s camera can be set to record continuously, so you never miss a moment.
The Ubiquiti Intercom integrates seamlessly with your existing gate control system, ensuring it operates without disrupting current safety features such as light barriers, push-to-exit buttons, or induction loops.
Automatic firmware updates ensure new features are added regularly, keeping your system up to date.
If you're looking for a reliable, user-friendly intercom system for your gates, Ubiquiti UniFi Intercoms are an outstanding choice.

Ubiquiti Unifi Intercom FAQs

Can the UniFi Intercom open gates remotely?

Yes, the Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom allows you to open your gates remotely from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a working internet connection.
You don’t need to wait for a call--you can open the gates at any time directly from the UniFi Access app, giving you full control whether you're at home, at work, or abroad.

Do I have to use the App to answer calls to the Unifi Intercom?

No, you don’t have to use the UniFi Access app to answer calls—especially when you're on-site. While the app offers remote access and full control, there are alternative options for answering calls locally.
You can use UniFi Intercom Viewers (compact touchscreen devices similar in size to a smartphone) or Ubiquiti UniFi VoIP phones. These can be installed throughout your property, and you can have as many viewers or phones as you wish, depending on your needs.
The system is fully flexible, allowing you to build the setup that best suits your household or business.

Does the Unifi Intercom work with electric gate openers?

Yes, the Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom is fully compatible with most electric gate openers. It includes its own control hub, which connects directly to your existing gate automation system.
In addition to the main gate, secondary gates, such as pedestrian or side gates, can also be connected and controlled through the same system, offering a convenient and integrated access solution.
Our team will ensure the UniFi Intercom is set up to work seamlessly with your current gate controls, without affecting safety features like light sensors or induction loops.

Is internet required at the gate location?

Yes, an internet connection is required at the gate location for the Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom system to function. There are several ways to achieve this, depending on the layout of your property.
The ideal solution is to run a Cat6 network cable from your main building (typically near your internet router) directly to the gate. This provides the most stable and reliable connection.
However, if running a cable is not feasible, we can install a wireless Point-to-Point (PtP) link. These devices create a strong, high-speed wireless connection between the building and the gate. Point-to-Point links can cover distances of 5 km or more, but they do require a clear line of sight between the two locations.
Our team will assess your site and recommend the best option to ensure a stable connection for your intercom system.

Will the Ubiquiti Unifi Intercom still work if my internet connection is down?

Yes, the Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom will continue to function locally even if your internet connection goes down. You’ll still be able to use it for on-site access control at the gate.
However, you will lose remote access via the UniFi Access app, as a working internet connection is required for smartphone notifications, video calls, and remote gate operation. Once the internet is restored, all remote features will resume automatically.

Will the Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom still work during a power cut?

The Ubiquiti UniFi Intercom requires mains power to operate. In critical situations, we can install an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to keep the intercom running temporarily during a power cut.
However, it’s important to note that most electric gate motors also rely on mains power, so while the intercom may remain operational with a UPS, your gates may not open unless they also have a backup power system in place.
We can advise on suitable backup options if continuous operation is essential.

Can I manage multiple properties within the Unifi Access App?

Yes, the UniFi Access app allows you to manage multiple properties or locations from a single account. Whether you have several homes, business premises, or remote sites, you can control access, view intercom activity, and manage users across all locations with ease--all from one app.
